Florida to Florida: the move that never crosses the line.

Miami to Orlando. Fort Lauderdale to Jacksonville. Hundreds of miles of real long-haul that happen to stay inside one state, which puts them under Florida’s own mover law instead of the federal one. Different rulebook, same discipline: a survey first, the price in writing, the registration number where you can check it.

Inside Florida, the law with your name on it is Chapter 507.

In writingChapter 507 requires the estimate on paper before the move. 49 CFR 375 never applies to it

Interstate moves run under federal rules, 49 CFR part 375, explained across this site. A move that starts and ends in Florida never enters that regime. It runs under Florida Statutes Chapter 507, enforced by FDACS, and it requires a state registration a federal number doesn’t substitute for.

Fla. Mover Reg. No. IM3947

The state-side twin of looking us up on SAFER.

Ours is Fla. Mover Reg. No. IM3947, on the FDACS registry, checkable in two minutes, the state-side twin of looking us up on SAFER. And Chapter 507 carries its own version of the discipline this site keeps arguing for: the estimate goes in writing before the move. That’s not our house style being quoted back at you. It’s Florida law, and it’s the first thing to demand from any intrastate mover, us included.

Miami to Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville: hundreds of miles, a real linehaul, and a household that needs the same survey-first process as any interstate job. State rulebook, our registered fleet, the price in writing before loading.

The main lane

Across the line

The moment your move leaves Florida it’s federal territory, and the core of this whole business. The long-distance page walks that lane end to end: estimate types, valuation, fees, the works.

Hourly figures describe the base local crew plan. Working time, minimums, packing, access, fuel and storage are reviewed before a complete quote; an online request does not book the move. Current Florida registration must be confirmed before service.

The number

Priced like the interstate lane: survey, then writing.

Start with the belongings and access at both ends. The hourly crew calculation uses the work recorded for your move; the team confirms the scope and any additional services before preparing the written proposal.

Are you licensed in Florida too, or just federally?

Both, and they're different documents. Interstate authority is federal: USDOT 4022357, MC 1517490, on FMCSA's SAFER system. Moving inside Florida runs under the state's own regime: Florida Statutes Chapter 507, administered by FDACS, where our registration is Fla. Mover Reg. No. IM3947. You can look that one up on the FDACS registry the same way you'd check SAFER, and you should, for any Florida mover.

Do you do small local moves across town?

The local crew plan includes three movers and a truck. The first five working hours are $175 per hour, hours above five through ten are $160 per hour, and hours above ten are $150 per hour. These tiers are cumulative. Access, packing, storage, minimums and any fuel charge need review before a complete estimate and booking.

How is a Florida long-haul move priced?

Survey first, then a written estimate. Chapter 507 requires the estimate in writing, and that's also simply how we work: the same walk-the-rooms video survey as our interstate lane, then the number on paper before anything is loaded. Expect range vocabulary from us until the survey has run; a Florida address doesn't make a sight-unseen exact number any less of a guess.

Can I use the online calculator for a Florida move?

Yes. Choose Florida for pickup and delivery in the moving planner, then add your inventory, access and packing details. You can review the progressive hourly charges before sharing contact details. If you do not know the working time, send the plan for the team to confirm the hours and any unresolved services before a complete estimate and booking.
